It is day 4 and I am walking normally without a stick after my hip replacement procedure. I have had absolutely no pain throughout and have, therefore, not taken the strong pain killers prescribed. I would have no hesitation in recommending my Consultant Surgeon James Lewis; he is amazing. Thanks also to the theatre and nursing staff who made my very short stay (one night) a positive experience.
Outrageous lack of customer service and complete disorganisation. ... No one seems to listen. And you get fobbed off by the consultants working there, I've had to go back to my GP to get referred to a different hospital. If you can avoid and use a different hospital do so. This is certainly NOT a premium private hospital as they have marketed it to be. I'm hoping my referral to a different group will actually get to the bottom of things. Extremely disappointed and stressed with my health condition.
Been going here as nhs patient for years,and many visits to Day Surgery. I have also taken many people there for appointments.The place is very scruffy...I was told by a member of staff a year ago there was to be a refurb but nothing so far. Admin is ALWAYS chaos,paperwork is generally incorrect,X-Ray never pick up the phone etc..I was in for day surgery a week ago,but they were using Ilex Ward which is upstairs.rather than the usual area downstairs. It was a Friday afternoon...very short of nurses.I had to wander about,twice,to ask for something,barefoot as my shoes were not in my room. No one came when I rang my bell. I have related all this to the manager,who I have spoken to before....not overly apologetic which doesn't help.
Always friendly, helpful and caring. Both outpatient and inpatient staff are invariably courteous, professional and compassionate.
Time spent with a consultant - 15 minutes. His interest in my issues - negligible but advice given. Cost - 180 pounds plus cost of using a cheap piece of equipment taking it to 255 pounds. Was it worth it - no.
